Strong results for Hindmarsh in Community Satisfaction Survey

Published on 05 June 2020

The annual Community Satisfaction Survey for Hindmarsh Shire Council saw residents participate in the annual survey during March and April 2020.

Results from the survey showed Council’s three areas where performance is significantly higher than other small Victoria rural councils are Lobbying, Waste Management and Community Decisions.

Hindmarsh Shire scored higher than the average of all small Victorian rural councils in 16 areas being overall performance, overall council direction, customer service, appearance of public areas, elderly support services, recreational facilities, waste management, enforcement of local laws, lobbying, local streets and footpaths, business/community development and tourism, consultation and engagement, informing the community, community decisions, building and planning permits, and slashing and weed control.

Mayor, Cr Rob Gersch said “The results from the 2020 customer satisfaction survey provides Council with valuable information on areas of importance to our community. It shows the community has a positive perception of Council performance.”

He added “Council will continue to lobby strongly to both State and Federal Governments to ensure Hindmarsh is able to continue to provide services to our communities that are important.”

The survey showed the overall performance of Council to be higher than both the average of all small Victoria rural Councils, and the State-wide average of all Councils.

“I would like to thank the residents who participated in the survey and shared their thoughts about key areas Council should focus on.”
