Asset Accountant

Salary commencing at $88,764 p.a. (plus superannuation)
The Asset Accountant is responsible for the accurate & compliant financial accounting of Council's Infrastructure, Property, Plant & Equipment.

About the Role
The Asset Accountant will be responsible for maintaining Council’s Asset Register in accordance with the Australian Accounting Standards, as well as preparing asset management reporting and assisting with the preparation of the Annual Financial Report. The Asset accountant will drive the budget process by developing Asset Management Plans and providing guidance to Councillors and Council officers through the revaluation of our assets.
About You
We are looking for a team player with the ability to communicate with stakeholders from across our organisation. You will need tertiary qualifications in Accounting or have made significant progress towards your qualification. It would be highly regarded if you hold a membership to a Professional Accounting body.
If you have previous experience in an asset accounting role, or experience developing budgets, with sound knowledge of budgeting and relevant accounting and financial procedures, we would love to hear from you.

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting (or significant progress towards qualification).
- Member of a Professional Accounting body (CPA or CA) (Highly desirable).
- Prior experience in an asset accounting role.
- Demonstrated experience developing budgets, with sound knowledge of budgeting and relevant accounting and financial procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a team.
- Current drivers licence.
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical, police check and Working with Children Check.
