Read on to find out about the amazing community projects that are progressing across Hindmarsh Shire.

NHILL DOG PARK

Hindmarsh Shire’s first Dog Park is progressing well with plenty of activity onsite over the past few weeks.

Just before Christmas, Council’s Outdoor Works team completed construction of an all-weather access driveway and parking, which is located adjacent to the Nhill Lawn Tennis Club.

Fencing contractors have recently completed the new 1,500mm high chainmesh fencing. The next stage will see earthworks undertaken to level out the major dips and then installation of several attractions to keep visiting canines busy.

Other works will include installation of seating and a picnic table and connection of a water point to refresh thirsty dog!

DAVIS PARK GRANDSTAND & CHANGEROOMS

Contractors have made steady progress on construction of the new Davis Park Grandstand and Changeroom, with the foundations completed just before Christmas.

Structural steel erection is almost complete with contractors moving their focus to the timber framing and the installation of the subfloor which will be undertaken throughout February. This will be followed by installation of the roof, windows and doors from March onwards.

OLD MINYIP ROAD AND DIMBOOLA MINYIP ROAD

Works have commenced on a sealed reconstruction of an approximately 1,000m length of road on Old Minyip Road (near Pilmores Road) and Dimboola Minyip Road (between Dimboola East Road and Geodetic Road). These works will repair significant damage to pavement by installing new pavement, slag lime stabilisation, and new seal. Works should be wrapped up in March subject to favourable weather conditions.
