Nhill Skatepark Progressing Well

Published on 20 March 2019

The new Nhill Skatepark in Jaypex Park Nhill is on schedule for completion in late April 2019, with contractor Trinity Skateparks making steady progress on the construction.

Many of the challenging concrete elements have already been poured and work has commenced on construction of ramps at either end of the park. The 1.5 metre and 1.8 metre high ramps are sure to be popular with skaters, scooters and BMX riders, providing an accelerated launch in to the park’s central elements and pump track.

“The new skatepark looks fantastic!” enthused Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay. “Council are really pleased with how the skatepark is progressing and I am sure the local youth can’t wait to try it out once it is completed” continued Cr Ismay.

In addition to providing local skate, scooter and BMX enthusiasts with a state of the art recreational facility, the new park, funded by Hindmarsh Shire Council and Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund should also prove popular with visitors to the town.

Located on the Western Highway at Jaypex Park, the new skatepark will be an attraction for travellers and their children, providing an opportunity for some active recreation and a reason to stop longer in Nhill.

“We are confident the new skatepark won’t just be a hit with local enthusiasts, it will also be an incentive for families on a road trip to plan their driving break in Nhill” explained Cr Ismay “and hopefully support our local businesses” he concluded.
