Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council Let It Glow Disco

Hindmarsh Shire Youth Councillors are excited to announce that their next disco will be held at the Rainbow Recreation Reserve on Friday 16 August 2024 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm with the theme being “Let it Glow.” Youth Councillors encourage attendees to wear white or glow in the dark inspired outfits to get the full effect of the lighting.

Food and refreshments will be available, and attendees will have the chance to win a box of ‘Favourites’ for the best dressed ‘glow in the dark outfits.’

As with all Hindmarsh Youth Council ‘Engage’ and ‘FReezA’ events, the dicso will be supervised, there will be no pass outs and it will be a drug, alcohol, smoke and vape free function. Return buses with adult supervision from Nhill, Dimboola, and Jeparit to Rainbow will be provided on the night but registration is essential by 5:00pm on 14 August 2024 to guarantee a seat on the bus.

This event is for ages 12 – 18 years.

Hindmarsh Shire Council CEO, Monica Revell said “based on community feedback, it was identified as being important for Council to host more youth events and activities in Hindmarsh Shire. The ‘Let it Glow’ disco offers a valuable opportunity for young people from across the Shire to come together in a fully supervised environment, fostering new friendships and social connections, and enhancing well-being.”

The previous Youth Council disco held in Dimboola attracted over 120 youth from across the shire, with one attendee saying, “it’s so great that you guys run these discos.” Get in early with your registration to avoid missing out and come along to join in the fun with this ‘Glow in the Dark’ disco.
