Hindmarsh Shire Council Community Action Grants Awarded

Hindmarsh Shire Council has awarded seven local community organisations grant funding through round two of the 2024/2025 Community Action Grants program.

Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay, said “The Community Action Grants Program was designed as a way for Council to support local community organisations that are typically run by volunteers and don’t have ready access to funding."

He added, “The program consists of three categories that organisations can apply through - Small Equipment, Event Sponsorship and Community Assistance. It’s fantastic seeing the applications that come through every year and supporting the incredible work of local community groups.”

Hindmarsh Shire Council congratulates the recipients listed below and wishes them well for their upcoming projects and events!

  • Nhill-Dimboola Band will receive $1,000.00 to assist with rental costs for band practice. 
  • Nhill Basketball Association will receive $1000.00 to assist with subsidising uniform costs for participants. 
  • Nhill South Landcare Group will receive $500 towards a Little Desert National Park Bushfire Volunteer Thank You event.
  • Winiam CFA will receive $500.00 towards a Little Desert National Park Bushfire Volunteer Thank You event.
  • Nhill A & P Society will receive $500.00 towards children’s entertainment for the 139th Annual Nhill Agricultural Show 2025.
  • Rainbow Scout Group will receive $900.00 for the purchasing of a freezer/fridge Combination for their hall. 
  • Winiam Hall Incorporated will receive $496.00 for the purchase of a microwave oven, fire safety and medical equipment.

Cr Ismay said, “This was the final round of the Community Action Grants program for the 2024/2025 financial year, and I encourage any organisations who are looking for assistance next financial year to consider submitting an application.”
