Swimming Pool Contracts Awarded

At its meeting held on 8 September 2021, Council awarded the four pool contracts to the YMCA. By selecting one contractor, Council has made significant savings. The YMCA is committed to ensure suitably qualified staff are sourced locally if possible. The pools are set to open at 2.00 pm on Saturday 20 November 2021, subject to COVID-19 health restrictions and weather permitting.

Pre-season preparations and final maintenance checks in the next couple of months will ensure the swimming season opens with a splash! Learning to swim classes will also be made available to the public.

Mayor Cr Ron Ismay said “Council looks forward to working with the YMCA to provide safe facilities for the enjoyment of all patrons. This is also a great opportunity for our local youth to gain employment as qualified life guards. Council would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous contractors for running each of the pools last season”.

Pools will be generally open Monday-Friday from 3:30pm – 6:30pm, and Saturday, Sunday and school holidays 2:00pm – 7:00pm.
