September/October School Holidays Free Activity Packs

Hindmarsh Shire Council staff are working hard to make take-home packs to keep school-aged young people busy these school holidays. While it would be lovely to be doing activities in person, restriction limits in place until October mean that this won’t be possible.

Packs will be available that suit primary aged school students as well as teenagers, and will include STEM activities, hands on activities, things that get you out and about and a few surprises! Keep an eye out on Hindmarsh Shire Libraries and Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council Facebook pages in the coming weeks as we will announce some virtual activities.

Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay said “While we celebrate the easing of the recent lockdown in regional Victoria, restrictions do not allow for large gatherings. This doesn’t mean school holidays have to be boring though. With the spring weather coming, and an abundance of activities to keep young people busy, we know that school holidays can still be a fun, restful and regenerative time.”

Chief Executive Officer Greg Wood said, “It’s continued to be a tough time for young people over the last few months of lockdowns. We’re pleased to be able to adapt our school holidays program to be ‘take home’ until restrictions allow us to gather together again.”

Nhill Library

Friday 17 September 2021 – 2-5pm

 Jeparit Library and Customer Service Centre

Wednesday 15 September 2021 – 9am-12pm

Rainbow Library and Customer Service Centre

Friday 17 September – 2-5pm

Dimboola Library and Customer Service Centre

Friday 17 September – 9am-12pm and 2-5pm.
