Albacutya Bridge Construction
Published on 18 June 2021
Following Hindmarsh Shire Council’s successful applications for funding from the state and federal governments, for the construction of a new Albacutya Bridge, Council wishes to advise that Ace Infrastructure Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract.
Acknowledging the funding boost, Hindmarsh Shire Mayor Cr Ron Ismay said “I’m extremely pleased that we will now be able to complete the new dual lane Albacutya Bridge. This will enable a further upgrade in the safety of a key road in the Shire.”
Works are expected to commence in September 2021 and be completed in mid-2022.
“The funding will enable a new dual lane bridge to be constructed in replacement of the old single lane bridge, as well as upgrades to the roads approaching the bridge. This will enable easier access for local farmers and tourists as the gravel bypass through the Outlet Creek bed will no longer need to be used.” concluded Cr Ismay.
