Hindmarsh Shire Libraries Lets Stay Connected

While Hindmarsh Shire Libraries are unable to open the doors due to COVID-19 restrictions, it doesn’t mean residents can’t borrow the very latest from the entire range of electronic resources. Hindmarsh Shire Libraries members are able to download a book to read on electronic devices, flick through the latest edition of popular magazines or listen to audio books.
Cr Rob Gersch, Mayor said: “We are disappointed that we are unable to open our libraries to the community, but we have many ways for people to stay connected.”
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries has a subscription to BorrowBox which have great titles available to members of Hindmarsh Shire Libraries. RBDigital also allows members to have access to fabulous new releases, classic favourites, Australian content and access to electronic copies of popular magazines, including some new titles.
Cr Gersch said: “Whether you’re interested in gardening, armchair travel or what to cook or wear next, be sure to look at the carefully curated collections available on RBDigital.”
“If you haven’t listened to an audio book before, there are lots of benefits to listening to the spoken word including increasing reading accuracy, improving comprehension, teaching pronunciation and increasing vocabulary, improving fluency and your reading speed. Not only can you listen to the latest best seller, but you can improve your own literacy at the same time! Plus, you’re free to do other things like gardening, exercise or cooking. The possibilities are endless.”
