Hindmarsh Library Click & Collect Set to Go
Published on 24 August 2020
Following clarification by the Department of Health and Human Services, that rural / regional library services are able to provide ‘click and collect’ contactless services to our community, preparation is underway to set up this service for Hindmarsh residents.
Hindmarsh Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Gersch said, “We are excited to offer residents within the Hindmarsh Shire area, the opportunity to utilise the new ‘click and collect’ services from Monday 31 August 2020.”
All existing library members and those joining Hindmarsh Shire libraries will be able to opt-in to the click & collect service. Library membership is available online, or by telephoning Hindmarsh Shire on 03 5391 4444.
Library members will be able to make use of this new service in Jeparit, Dimboola, Nhill and Rainbow. Members with access to the internet can simply log in to the library page, and place holds on anything within the Hindmarsh Shire Libraries collection. Community members who do not have online access are able to call Hindmarsh Shire. Couriers between metropolitan and regional libraries are not operating in many areas due to COVID-19 restrictions, so for now, collections based within Hindmarsh Shire Libraries are available for you all to access and enjoy.
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries Coordinator, Whitney Kingston said, “We have received an expansive new collection with many titles in both fiction, non-fiction, children’s picture books, junior and young adult titles”.
Access to the library catalogue is through the Hindmarsh Shire Council website. Community members can make selections through an online form, or library staff can make selections on your behalf, based on your reading interests. If you are not able to access any of these services online, please call customer service on 03 5391 4444 and we will be able to assist you over the phone.
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries click & collect service will be following strict COVID-19 safety protocols with collections from each library, in each town as follows.
Jeparit Mondays from 2-4pm.
Dimboola Tuesdays 2-4pm.
Nhill Thursdays 2-4pm.
Rainbow Fridays 2-4pm.
A member of staff will ring residents to secure a time slot, and ensure the selection of books is ready for collection. It’s a completely contactless transaction, which allows Council to keep the new service safe for you, safe for our staff and safe for our whole community.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Whitney Kingston, Coordinator Library Services, on 03 5391 4444 or email libraries@hindmarsh.vic.gov.au.
