COVID-19 Impacts Community Survey

Published on 24 August 2020

Hindmarsh Shire COVID-19 Revitalisation Reference Group is seeking community feedback on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to inform a recovery plan aimed at helping the Hindmarsh community recover from the pandemic. Like most communities, Hindmarsh has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and Council would like to hear from community members what impacts the pandemic has had on them and their family.

Hindmarsh Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Gersch said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our community in different ways and we are keen to hear from individuals on what these impacts have been.” “By completing the survey you will assist Council to understand the effects of the pandemic throughout our community and allow us to ensure the recovery plan is tailored to the needs of our community.”

The survey contains a broad range of questions in order to gain an understanding from all age groups within the Shire on areas including business, employment, family pressures, and mental wellbeing. The survey also contains questions for our youth and parents dealing with home schooling.

The goal for recovery is to support our communities to successfully deal with the impacts of the pandemic whilst at the same time building community cohesion and community resilience.

Cr Gersch continued, “We know there have been issues and impacts felt by the pandemic, but we are also keen to hear if there are positive learnings arising from the pandemic.”

The survey is available on Hindmarsh Shire Council’s website www.hindmarsh.vic.gov.au/community-revitalisation-reference-group or in hard copy by contacting Council’s customer services team on 03 5391 4444. Survey responses close Friday 11 September 2020.
