Cr James Barry is genuinely excited about the future of the Hindmarsh Shire Council.
He lives and works on his farm between Gerang Gerung and Glenlee with his wife and two boys. He enjoys living in Hindmarsh Shire because we have the Wimmera River, deserts to the north and south, good sporting venues all over as well as few lakes all at our doorstep.
Cr Barry decided to run for Council to do his bit to help the community which has been so inviting to them since moving here in 2012. Together, he believes we can build on the strong foundation that has been laid, making our Shire an even better place to live, work, retire, and visit.
During his term as Councillor, he would like to be open and transparent. He believes we need to maintain our roads and infrastructure, as well as build for the future. He would like to see quality venues and events and sees the need to secure funding to make this happen, ensuring that our farmers, businesses and local services thrive.
