The Hindmarsh Shire Council provides community groups and small businesses the opportunity to work collaboratively with Council to make their town a better place to live and work.

Community Action Grants

Council offers project funding to a variety of not-for-profit community groups through our Community Action Grants program.

These grants help to support the delivery of projects by the community for the community.

The program has four grant categories available to community groups.

 

Event Sponsorship

Grants up to $500 are available to contribute to the costs of hosting an event in Hindmarsh Shire. For events that will have a significant regional impact, Council may allocate sponsorship of up to $1,000 per event. To be eligible for up to $1,000 sponsorship events must provide evidence of social and economic benefit in the application.

Minor Facility Upgrade

Grants up to $2,000 are available to assist with the costs of upgrading community facilities.

Small Equipment

Grants up to $1,000 are available to assist with the costs of purchasing small equipment items.

Community Assistance

Grants up to $1,000 are available to assist with unique and innovative projects which fall outside the eligibility of our other three grant categories.

Business Assistance Grants

The Hindmarsh Shire Council Business Assistance Grants Program was established in 2016 to generate new employment opportunities, support existing businesses to grow and attract new business to Hindmarsh Shire.

The Business Assistance Grants Program is categorised into three key areas:

  • Start Up;
  • Business Growth; and
  • Streetscape Improvement.

The Business Assistance Grant Program addresses the ongoing need to attract new business and support existing business within the shire. Grants of up to $3,000 are available.

Start Up
Supports the establishment of new and innovative businesses that increase the diversity of the Shire’s business community.

Business Growth
Assists existing small businesses to grow utilising the grant for training, planning and mentoring services.

Streetscapes
Open to existing business to improve the exterior façade of their building (must have property owner approval) through refurbishing shop exteriors and verandahs and improving accessibility to the premises.
